Name: Chitose Izumo
Species: Human
Occupation: Part-time handyman, miko
Ability: Manipulation of Mechanisms
Location: Human Village, Youkai Mountain (depends on time of year)
Age: Early 20's
Power: Roughly stage 3-4
Physical: Stands roughly 5'8", average build. Deep brown hair, chin length, usually tucked behind ears or covered under a kerchief. Clothing while on duty is a mostly standard miko outfit (with no armpits showing) and a hakama dyed in autumn colors (gradient from deep red to bright yellow). Off-duty clothing is usually a simple dress or kimono. Also wears a hair ornament in the shape of two wheat ears at all times.
A girl from Osaka who caught Yukari's eye due to her hobby of fixing up old shrines (in particular, the "shell" or "echo" left behind in the place where the Hakurei Shrine once stood before the Barrier was created). A few days prior to the events of Undefined Fantastic Object, Yukari gapped her through the barrier, banking on the potential developing incident to keep Reimu too focused to want to waste power on sending her back. By the time the incident was over, Chitose had traveled through a large portion of Gensokyo and decided to stay. She was an engineering student before entering Gensokyo; coupled with her aforementioned hobby, this makes her very good at carpentry and building in general. She maintains a relatively small home just outside the human village, near to the edge of the Forest of Magic. She also has a slight potential talent for magic, so Patchouli on occasion will tutor her, though this is infrequent due to the youkai's temperament and poor health, and her repertoire is mostly utility spells rather than combat.
During her travels, she came across a small and long-abandoned shrine to the Aki sisters; she has since then put a good deal of effort into cleaning, repairing, and expanding it into a more proper shrine. About a year and a half after her arrival, the sisters took her on as an official miko serving them, a role she has stepped into with worry, considering her inexperience, but has done her best since to fill. She now spends most autumns up at the shrine, helping the sisters to clean, prepare, gather up a bit of faith, and put on an autumn festival.
